holiday cancelled, and not going further than the garden for most of the time and shopping online.
The camera club closed just before lockdown took place, so no camera club although we still put in our AV's to be shared around the members and those of us who enter the SPF submitted our images as DPI for both the prind and DPI sections, above is one of my entries which took me a full 3 days to do, and titled "Lockdown Nightmare"
During the first week of July I had my first trip of any distance to collect my new car, this did feel very strange screens, masks and social distancing, not much to worry about in a car alone, but I decided as I prefer to pick my own I would go to the supermarket at 7pm when it would be quite the first time since before lockdown, I didn't have to queue up the store was relatively quiet, and I has sanitized my hands and put on my mask before leaving the car, then the shakes started and the panic attack, I had not been in any shop other than the chemist to collect my medication for four months, a week later I tried again this time with the larger of the two supermarkets we have here, both were nerve wracking experiences, and I thought I had handled lockdown without any problems, because I had been out with the camera a few times but late afternoon when it would be quieter, I was wrong and the trips to the supermarket let me know that.
When the travel and holiday accommodation restrictions were lifted I booked a trip for later in the year, I had not been out since my shopping trips and had been on a low ebb and over thinking things, on Sunday 26th July I decided to go for a drive and do a spot of macro photography, it took me hours of staring out the window and a few panic attacks, in the end I managed to calm myself down and go out, driving to Toward to find more cars and people than I would normally see at that time of day, so I turned and started to head home, I decided to pull in to the parking area next to the Balaclava Garage, only one car there, eventually getting myself out the car I was soon taking some macro shots.
I found my first Cinnabar moth caterpillars of this year, as I was photographing them an elderly woman and her daughter were passing and asked me was it flowers or insects I was photographing, pointing to the caterpillars I stepped back to let them see them, a bit of a chat and off they went.
Getting out really helped although back to doing the shopping online for now, and to stop the over thinking I was binge watching Netflix but then over the last few days I have started to work on my family tree again, that gives me more positive things to think on and passes several hours as the weather has been wet, So on the days that it is dry I will make sure I get out and about.
Stay safe folks and look after yourself
