In February I made my migration north to Burghead with my brother to photograph the winter migrants,
My surgery was in early May so that restricted me getting out and about for a few weeks, as soon as I was well enough I made the trip to the Farne Islands, I had made the trip on my own in 2013, however there was no way my brother was letting me go this year without him.
in September I made the dream trip to Orkney, invited by a cousin who was going there for six weeks, I cant wait to go back to Orkney and do some wildlife photography, most of this trip was genealogical and site seeing, my journey home I stopped a few days at my beloved Findhorn which like Orkney is home of my ancestors.
The biggest Low happened in October when my computer died, most of my photos were on the external drive but about 20 folders with a lot of shots were not, I lost some of the best dragonfly macro shots I had taken and a host of others from July and August,
I learned the hard way, ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR SHOTS RIGHT WAY!! as yet I don't know if I will get anything back.
One of the most memorable experiences was a few days up to Burghead with my brother to attend the 2020 vision talk by Peter Cairns at Simpsons Garden Centre, a fantastic talk from Peter,
My brother and I arranged to meet my good friend Andy Howard for Breakfast at the garden centre next morning, then Andy took us off to Strathspey to photograph Crested Tits, I think it was almost an hour before I took my camera out, about 8 Crested Tits flying around us and I really was speechless, Awesome Experience.
To end this year I have started giving the website a revamp, and that included adding this blog, somethings I feel I would like to add others I feel need more space,
My Plans for 2015!! Watch this space
