For the first time ever with a few other members of the camera club, I entered the 94th Scottish International Salon of Photography, for those that are not aware of what the salon is about here's a little background to help.
The Scottish Salon receives entries from photographers from all around the World, on average from fifty countries with the main support coming from the Four Home Countries, and Europe. It is one of only two International Photographic Salons in Scotland, and amongst the oldest in the world, first having been run in 1904.
The Scottish Salon normally offers SIX sections per competition with the following categories: -
Open Monochrome Prints (PSA Large), Open Colour Prints (PSA Large), Nature Prints (PSA ND and
Open Monochrome Projected Image (PSA PID Mono), Open Colour Projected Image (PSA PID Color), Nature Projected Image (PSA ND)
I entered two color prints, four nature prints, four color Digital Images, two mono Digital images, and four Nature Digital images.
I knew the scale of the entries would be high because it was an international Salon, the reason I entered was simply because I like to enter the Scottish Photograph Federation competitions because I think it is good experience, not that I ever expect to get anything accepted, although I have had a couple of times.
Anyway so my first time entering the Salon and imagine my surprise when I got the scores for my entries , and discovered the above image which was one of my Nature DPI had been accepted in the salon.
I really did not expect to do well at all with any of my entries, I guess I need to believe in my self a little more.
