With all the rain we had and not going out I was getting a little stir crazy each time I decided I would take a trip out the weather was either rubbish or the ME was playing up,
I looked at going to Burghead but the Fisherman's Rest was booked for when I wanted to go with nothing available until October, I then looked at B&B's around Lossiemouth and the Hostel at Findhorn, I had not been to the Hostel since it's revamp mainly because the cost for the separate room which 2 bunk beds was now going to cost £35 a night (£16 before the revamp), the B&B £40 a night which included breakfast, Both had pro's and cons, the hostel shared bathroom/shower facilities and kitchen, the B&B was En-suite, a good breakfast, on the downside it would mean eating out every night.
But then I noticed that the Fisherman's Rest was showing the last week in September available, It did not bother me at all staying at the cottage on my own, and as I weighed it up it worked out not much more than the cost of staying at the hostel, and no shared facilities, plus I could travel light since I had laundry facilities.
There had been a cancellation and that was why it was now showing available, so at very short notice I was heading off to Burghead.
The weather was good in fact the odd light shower which did not last and a morning of rain, other than that it was blue skies and a bit of cloud. but a change of scenery, which is always good, I did not do a lot while I was away.
I met up with my good friend in Lossiemouth, on the morning it was raining, we decided lunch and do some genealogy research (my other hobby) at her house, Needless to say there was zero research done, we sat and chatted the entire day, and before I knew it it was teatime.
I did not go to as many places as I do when my brother is with me, as then I am only doing the driving, but on my own I was cooking and doing the tidying up, but it was still a good week albeit it went in so quickly.
So needless to say I came back to the wet and dreary weather that I had left behind and I have been out once with the camera since I got back.
No plans for any more trips at the moment but I still have hundreds of images to process, and having deciding to get Lightroom / Photoshop CC and need to learn I think that should keep me out of mischief for a while as I learn how to use it.
