Unfortunately I have not managed out much since then due to a rather nasty chest infection, which glad to say is clearing well, just in nice time too as on the 2nd of June it is my annual trip to Seahouses and the Farne Islands, hoping to get some great shots of the seabirds, of course the Puffins and the Terns are always top of the list................and on that note I had better start getting everything ready for the trip........ watch this space for how the Northumberland trip went. Thanks for dropping by.
Well not much left of May, I have no idea where it has went, weather has not been great, to say the least it's more like April weather than May, I attended my neighbors little boys christening, and took the photos for them, Then I met up with an online friend Nick Ray, who is kayaking round Scotland visiting all the lifeboat stations while raising funds for the RNLI his photo can be seen in my latest images.

Well the highlight last month was winning the nature trophy, and also second place too, Although April's weather was fantastic I did not get to enjoy it much.
I ended up with bug followed with a cold, and fatigue, then the weather changed so I have not been out that much, and did not have much to put onto the website on the website. Monday night was the prize giving at the club and I was expecting the nature Trophy (pictured above) and the the Dorian Cousins Shield, I did not expect the other trophy nor did I expect a gold medal along with my Nature trophy, which is really nice as towards the end of the next years season and they trophy's get handed back to get engraved for the next recipient, there was nothing to commemorate the win for the trophy cabinet, not that I have one, although I may need to think of some where to put them on display. Another highlight was last Friday when I was up at Benmore Gardens, I had been down to put my prescription in to the doctors, and needed to top up the car although I still had over 1/4 a tank I decided I would go for a coffee at Benmore and get the fuel on the way back, it had been overcast, and had no intention of taking photos so left the camera behind, as i finished my coffee the sun came out so I thought I will have a stroll, I really could have kicked myself a pair of Mandarin Ducks landed on the pond and apparently have been there every morning first thing. I have been up twice but they have not been about any sounds and they are off which is possibly why they are there early when the staff start work, the sad note is when I went to Benmore today I noticed something on the grass near to the base of a large tree, sadly it was a relatively young male squirrel I did take some shots of it, no sign of any squirrel pox looked healthy..........well as healthy as a dead squirrel can look, I phone my friend who is one of the gardeners, I wasn't sure what they do if the find a dead animal, when he looked at it, it seemed as though it's neck was broken, so possibly feel out the tree, but when I looked at the shots I had taken , the poor little thing was covered in ticks mostly around its mouth and head, it also had a small amount of moss in it's mouth, that left me feeling sad, my friend did try to give his heart massage but I think it had been dead for a while. |
