So a brief summery for last month, with being back behind the wheel it has given me more Independence, and able to get out with the camera a few times, and back at the camera club, It's good to be taking part in competitions again, the above image was one of my entries for the 3rd open, and delighted to say it got me 1st place in the prints.
Well getting back to normal is taking a little longer than it should or should I say for most after this surgery, but then I knew it would, Something I don't often mention in my blogs is my Fibromyalgia and CFS and how it affects me, Sometimes I think I should as it may help raise awareness and on the other hand I think who would want to know anyway! but that is the reason I take longer to recover from surgery, cuts, colds and infections etc, I do not see myself as a Fibro-sufferer, more the Fibro-warrior/rebel, my best pain drug is my camera and being out with nature, but the weather has not been great and some days I just didn't have the energy.
On those days I took the opportunity to work on my return journey for my main holiday, booked to go to the Butterfly Conservation Gathering at Battleby.
What a Pleasant Surprise!!
I also spent a weekend doing genealogy research but not for myself, but for a complete stranger, who at 69 had just found out who her birth father was and she had never seen a photo of him,
It came about when my cousin's wife Gina phoned to ask me what I knew about a name connected to the family tree as they got an email from a lady asking about it, the connection was though Bob's grandfather (my great granduncle) when I heard the story I went into full search mode or my Miss Marple mode as my cousin calls me, after a matter of hours I had contact info to living relatives and a photo of her father, I then started to work backwards giving her a better insight to her biological father.
I got a phone call from the lady as she wanted to thank me, and she said "I think we know each other!" and she explained, it turned out when Gina passed the information on she mentioned my name and that I lived in Scotland and very keen on my photography, she had asked Gina if I was a member of an online genealogy group that we were both part of, so here we were 12 years since I first talked with her online, I had no idea who I was doing research for I was totally blown away we plan to meet up when I am at Bob and Gina's in a few months, a small world indeed, and the satisfaction of being able to help is on a par with being out in nature.
